Cocoa Holder ~ Mrs. Claus (post #2)

While I was making my Santa cocoa treat holders I thought he needed company so I created a little companion for him. You guessed it the little Mrs.

Again I started with a 4x11 in. piece of white cardstock then scored and folded it at 1 in. and 6-1/4 in.
Next I cut a 3-3/4 x 3/4 in. red strip of paper and attached it to the top flap.
Then I cut and attached a red 3-3/4 x 4-1/2 in. rectangle for the her dress front.
For her dress back I cut and attached a red 3-3/4 x 5 in rectangle.
I thought this lace would make the perfect apron for her.

Next I placed a cocoa packet under the flap and punched two holes through the flap, packet and back.
To finish it off I laced ribbon through the holes and tied a bow in the front both for decoration and to secure the cocoa packet in place.

Here is a picture of the happy couple together.

  1. Visiting from seeing your creations on Red Carpet Studio. Seems you & I are the only ones that used both lace & ribbon. The others have a Nutcracker image but the challenge as I understand it states to use Lace & Ribbon and by looking at the DT creations you can see that you do not have to use a Nutcracker but you do have to use the Lace & Ribbon. I commented on the challenge blog but comment was never approved or replied to so go figure. The ornament one before your entry used lace only. These are sweet. I like the idea of a Mr. & Mrs. pr.
