Father's Day Card ~ Sweet Lighthouse Memories {2nd Post}

This lighthouse holds a special place in my heart.

Years ago when my friend was stationed at the 

Cape Blanco lighthouse when he was in the Coast Guard .

It was closed to the public so it was just the two of them.

He and I grew up across the street from each other.

I babysat his wife when she was a little girl.

She was like a daughter to me.

When they started dating we did everything together.

We went to Disneyland every summer for years.

We spent weekends and summer vacations at the lighthouse.

When she died in a car accident in 1985 my heart broke.

When I saw this stamp I just had to have it.

I used it to create this card for my Father-in-law.

Father's Day Card ~ Relax {2nd Post}

Didn't this sweet little corgi make a good Father's Day card?

I inked up my embossing folder to create my background.

I have been having such a fun time with this technique this month.

Next I colored up the corgi and slippers.

To finish up I used a sentiment from my stash.

Father's Day Card ~ Peep, Peep, Peep

I have my first Father's Day card of 2015 to share today.

I thought this little chick was so cute I made a row of them.

Of course they are all wearing ties. lol.

I embossed the background then inked up the wires 

with brown ink to help them stand out.

Father's Day Card ~ Patriotic Superhero {1st Post}

Where did the month go? 

I have a feeling my summer vacation is going to pass by really fast.

I've been having a blast filling my days with crafting.

I've had this idea sketched out for weeks 

and even bought the starburst dies to create it.

Father's Day Card ~ World's Best {3rd Post}

Hi everyone. I hope your week has been a good one.

I wanted to play along with a few challenges with this card.

It needed to include wings, transportation, blue, 

and be a manly type card that celebrates Dad.

I started by inking up this great airplane embossing folder. 

When I trimmed down the embossed panel I was careful to leave one 

of the airplanes in tacked so it could be used as an embellishment.

With this sentiment the card could easily be used for 

Father's Day, a birthday or just to let that special guy know you care.

Each year I make a special card for my dear sweet father-in-law.

He collects and permanently displays each and every card I make him.

When I saw this lighthouse paper I knew it would perfect.

I added nautical embossing and the life preserver I created.

The sentiment is the perfect one to express our love for this man.

Father's Day Card ~ World To Me {1st Post}

I went with a manly black and blue color combo for my card.
First I inked up my embossing folder and ran
the dark blue card stock through my trusty Cuttlebug.
Next I stamped the sentiment stamps to create the panel background.
I framed up the sentiment then added some embossed arrow die cuts.
To finish up I added black ribbon to divide the base pieces.

I printed the hippos in two sizes so I could have a Dad and his son.

Next I inked up the embossing folder to create my background.
To finish off I hand cut the banner to fit the sentiment.

Father's Day Card ~ Not a Tie {1st Post}

This Father's Day card can also be used for a birthday card.

I inked up the embossing folder before running 

my paper through to make my background.

I colored, cut then added the panda, bag and tie.

The tie and top sentiment are adhered with foam tape for dimension.
