Welcome to my very first blog post ever!

I made this 5 x 7 Easter basket shaped card to enter into a card contest at one of my local craft stores.

I used the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge for the basket, bunny, butterfly and eggs.

*Using the Cricut Craft Room online design program I welded the basket together at the top to create my card base. I cut a separate basket for the card front and embossed it using my Cuttlebug Oriental Weave folder.
*Using Cricut Craft Room (CCR) I hid the face and other cut features leaving the middle of the ear cuts which I backed with purple paper. I stamped his little face using my Peachy Keen Critter Faces stamp set. I filled in the whites of his eyes with my Gelly Roll white pen.
*I cut out three eggs and decorated them with glittery ribbon and reinstones.
*I cut out the butterfly and added him to the basket handle.

I used the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge to create the 3D flowers and leaves

I stamped Happy Easter and added it to a tiny tag. I hung the tag on with twine.

It is hard to tell from the picture but the bunny, flowers, leaves, eggs, tag and butterfly are all cut from Colorbok pearlescent paper so they have a pearly shine to them.
(***I promise to strive to improve my picture quality in the future.***)

Before I sign off I'd like to send a special shout out and THANK YOU to my friend Karon of Karon's Krafty Korner. Karon has always been a kind and supportive friend and I appreciate her more than words can say. It is with her help and encouragement that I got up the courage to try my hand at creating my own blog. You can visit my talented friend at Karon's Krafty Korner

Thanks for looking and have a safe and super weekend.

  15. Hey D~,

Such an adorable card for your first ever post. I can see why it is one of your favourites considering how ambitious it is with all the cuts and 3D elements. It is amazing that the Cricut was used for almost all the cuts (I think everything except the tag).

I am so pleased that you entered my World Card Making Day Celebration. While it is difficult to choose the ones we love the most, It is nice to sit back and reflect on our accomplishments throughout the past year. I'll be back shortly to check out your other two entries.

    Regards,
    Lisa
