Christmas Card ~ All Dressed Up (post #1)

For my first card today I used this adorable Paper Nest Dolls image.
I replaced the feathers in her hat with handmade holly and covered her lantern with a Christmas tree cut from the design paper.
I added a little glitter glue to the tree decorations to give it sparkle.

Birthday Card ~ Black & White Floral (post #1)

This time around I used an 8.5 x 11 sized design paper to create my set.
Because there is less paper I can get one note pad holder and two or tree cards depending on their style.
I wanted to bling it up a little so I added rhinestones to the flower centers.
I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I stamped the sentiment directly to the card base then added a little bow.

For my second card I tore the tree design paper strip but this time backed it with yellow design and solid red torn strips.
I went with a landscape style this time and added three design paper trees to the corner.
My sentiment is on a mini bookplate and backed with raffia.

Christmas Card ~ Wishing You... (post #1)

I made two more cards and two more note holders with one piece of 12 x 12 paper.
This time they are all Christmas themed.
For the first card I tore the design paper strip, inked the edges then backed it with a torn solid red strip. I cut out three of the little trees from the design paper backed them paper then adhered  them with foam tape.
I cut my scroll sentiment frame from some yellow design paper scraps then added the sentiment.
I cut a second scroll and put it behind the first one for a shadow effect.
I backed it with two colors of raffia.

Notepad Holder ~ Coffee or Tea? (post #2)

For my second 12 x 12 creation I made two notepad holders with pens.
It is hard to see the Christmas design on the paper on the holder so I'm including a picture of the set.
I found this ribbon in my stash that matched perfectly.
I love to go to Joanns and Michaels and get their seasonal ribbon (on sale of course).
It is fun the next year to get it back out and see what I can create with it.

Christmas Card ~ Coffee or Tea? (post #1)

I challenged myself to make as much as I could from one piece of 12 x 12 design paper.
I found that if I just make a project or card from the paper I just end up filing away the scraps and it can be years if ever before I get back to it.
My scraps are getting out of control. lol
I have baggies here and there waiting for me to separate and put them where they belong.
I started a new filing system that I {try to} use each time now but sometimes it just goes in a baggie. whoopsie.

I was able to complete two cards and two note holders and still have enough scrap to make one or two cards left over from my 12 x 12 paper.
You will probably see a series of note holders and cards because I'm trying to work on some stock for a bazaar I do every December. I like to start making things in July so the pressure is less as the day approaches.

Here is the first card.
This one is a Christmas card and I tried to play off the holly leaves in the design so I used my holly and berry stamp for accents.

I originally planned this card to be a CAS card but I kept adding things I thought would look good on it.
Don't worry I made a CAS one for tomorrow's post. tee hee hee.
It is kind of hard to see in the picture but I added glitter glue dots around the design , to the sentiment frame and on the balloons.
I found the burlap ribbon on sale for 70% at Joanns and the ribbon bow is made with ribbon blog candy I received from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Christmas Card ~ Ornament Bear (post #1)

I have been having fun playing with some of my stamps.
Some are new and some I've had for years.
It has been fun to look at a stamp that is designed one way and change it up a bit to get a different look or theme.
I just love this cute little Get Inky bear.
As you may remember I used this stamp to make a red, white and blue birthday card in June.
This time I stamped him on kraft paper and covered his cupcake with an ornament.

I had the hardest time getting the color to show up on the picture so I took two.
The first picture is the closest to the true colors but the details do not show up well.
The second picture looks more pink than red but it shows the details a little better.

I cut the ornament and the background from the same sheet of design paper.
The ornament has a shiny embossed design on it .
The background has a faded music note paper look to it.

Sympathy Card ~ Angel Thoughts (post #1)

Hi guys I have another black and white card for you.
Sympathy cards are the hardest type of card for me to make especially at the time they are needed.
While I was going through my Christmas stamp drawers I brought out my angel stamps.
Yes I said drawers as in six very full ones.
Can you say addiction? Anyway...

Get Well Card ~ Seashell Collage

One of my all time favorite colors is blue so when I picked out this embossing folder for my background I knew I would use assorted shades of blue with a little white accent.
I love the font on this get well sentiment and for me it is the perfect size for my cards.
I picked out this little flower, added assorted ribbon, a little twine and a tiny flower with a rhinestone center.

Christmas Card ~ Bows & Sparkles (post #3)

This card is my favorite Christmas one so far.
I stamped the Christmas sentiment tree with pine green ink onto the kraft card front.
Then to make the teeny tiny ornaments I used assorted tiny punches and the scraps from the foil and kraft paper used on the ornament card I made before.
I hand cut the little presents, added ribbon and tied tiny little ribbon bows to top them off.
I put in two pictures because they both accent the card in different ways.
The first one gives you a good idea of the card colors, highlights the ribbon and allows you to read the sentiment a little better.
The second one I took with a flash so the sparkly foil would show up but it washed out the other details.

Get Well Card ~ Black & White Bling (post #2)

For my second card I wanted to create one with a black and white color combo.

Birthday Card ~ Balloon Celebration (post #1)

This was a fun little CAS birthday card to create that could easily be used for other types of celebrations.
I like how it looks BUT I'm not real happy with how the glitter glue dried because it curled the paper.
Next time I'll put the glitter glue on and let it dry before putting the card together so I can smooth the wrinkles out as I place the card front onto the base.
You know I'm sure that card is coming apart so I can smooth it out because it is REEEALLY bothering me. lol.

Birthday Card ~ Nautical Celebration (post #3)

For my third card I used this nautical collage stamp.
I colored it with all kinds of Copic markers then tore the edges.
But wait I didn't stop there.
I decided it needed a tattered frame so I tore up some more card stock and then layered them.
I liked how the scroll sentiment looked on my other card so I repeated it but this time I accented the little curls on the scroll with a white gel pen to finish it off.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.

*Card fronts torn from assorted card stock.
*Nautical stamp from Running Rhino & Co.
*Sentiment is made using two Verve Stamps sets called Happy Thoughts and So Happy
*Sentiment is stamped on the Scroll Die from Verve Stamps
