Another Mother's Day Card

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I have today off due to a budget reduction day.
I hope to get some crafting done. I also need to do a little reorganizing to make room for the Cuttlebug purchases I made during Provo Craft's midnight sale this weekend. *Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. embossed with the Cuttlebug Art Deco folder.
*Frame cut using the My Creative Time  Stitched "Capture" Frame.
*Design paper from gcd Studios Kathy davis Happiness 12x12 pad.
*Butterfly cut at 1 in. from the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.
*Rhinestone bling from Joanns.
*Recollection button and Spool o Ribbon ribbon from Michaels.
*Stem and leaves cut by hand.

Thank you for stopping by.  See you next time.

A Wonderful Mother's Day Memory

When our daughter was little we spent a lot of time at the beach playing in the sand.
Walking hand in hand along the shore as the waves tickled our feet.
Searching for all of those wonderful sea treasures that just had to be there somewhere.
Making this card reminded me of those magical hours of pure bliss.

Before I tell you what I used to make my card I have a few more thank you shout outs to do.

*The gorgeous ribbon is what my ribbon, buttons and pearl blog candy came wrapped in from Bonnie at Really Reasonable Ribbon .

*The beautiful Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from the Happy Days stamp set blog candy I received from Mary at Cardz TV .

*I used The Bow-Maker blog candy from Cathy at Creative Cutter Room .

A special thanks to all of you. Please know that I appreciate every sweet piece of blog candy I have ever been lucky to receive from you and other generous bloggers.

Now to the card info:
*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*The boy and mom stamps are actually separate Stampin' Up stamps. I stamped the mom then masked her arm and stamped the boy.
*The seagull stamp is from Stampendoos.
*I colored the scene using assorted Copic markers.
*The button and paper is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and for leaving me some bloggy love. I really appreciate it!

A Simple Pink and White Mother's Day Card

Oh my goodness I just noticed I have a few new followers.
Welcome and I hope you all enjoy my crafts.
Thanks to all of you who come and check out my little blog.

I have some more thank yous to add today.
Have any of you wondered how I make most of my sweet little ribbon bows?
Well I won this super tool called The Bow Maker on a blog hop in January.
The hop was hosted by Shawn of Crafty Chics Blog
The blog candy was sponsered by Cathy of Creative Cutter Room
Thanks to both of you for this wondefully helpful candy!

Now on to my card...
I wanted to use a few of my embossing folders that I haven't used yet so I just grabbed a few.
My plan was to have a stripe-like effect on the bottom half of my card and a floral design at the top.

Here is my card. Enjoy.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front top embossed with the Cuttlebug Daisy Blast folder.
*Card front bottom embossed with the Sizzix folder (name unknown).
*Mother's Day sentiment form Stampin Up.
*Ribbon from American Crafts.
*Bow and embroidery thread from my stash.
*Bow created using The Bow-Maker

Thanks for checking out my little blog.
Come back real soon.

Mom Card

Here is a little Mother's Day card I made.
I fell in love with this paper when I first saw it.
I bought it a while ago before my self imposed hold on paper purchases.
Yesterday when I was at Joanns I saw another pad by the same designer and I almost bought it because the paper is gorgeous and has a lot of butterflies. It would be perfect for creating spring projects.
AND it was on sale.
Man was it tempting.
I do not have anything else like it so I may just give myself permission to just get one more pad.
I know. I know. My name is D- and I have an addiction.

I hope to get some crafting time in this weekend. It was supposed to rain but now they are saying we will get to 77-80 degrees today and the rain won't arrive until Sunday evening.
This weather is crazy for our area and it is getting real hard to keep the attention of the kiddos at school.
Have a super weekend!

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. and embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder.
*Scalloped circle cut at 3.75 in. from the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge.
*Circle cut at 3.25 in. from the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge.
*Mom cut at 1.5 in. from the Cricut Suburbia cartridge.
*Paper from the gcd Studios 12 x12  Kathy Davis Happiness pad.
*Celebrate It ribbon from Joanns.

Have a super weekend!

3-D Book Decorations

Here are pictures of some of the parent volunteer lunch decorations I helped with. It was definitely a team effort.
Our lunch theme was "Volunteers are the Keys to our Future!". the books were used as centerpieces.
They are now going to be used to decorate our school office.

The boxes originally were covered by friends of one of my LOTO peeps and used to decorate a church event.
She was unsure what the boxes were originally. They had some twine and other decorations on them which the LOTO crew took off. They added the paper along the edges so the boxes could be transformed into books.
I used tons of Cricut fonts from many cartridges and welded them together using the Cricut Craft Room design program then we adhered them to the ends of the books.

Enjoy!

Here are the books in their new home.

*Cricut cartridges used Billionaire, Kate's ABCs, Extreme Fonts, Suburbia, Art Nouveau, Cursive 101, and Folk Art Festival. (Some of the words are facing the other way)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy LOTO Day Cards

LOTO? you may be asking yourself...

Tomorrow is Administrative Professional's Day.
We lovenly call our office crew LOTO.
Ladies Of The Office.
I'm not sure where the nickname originally came from but it fits these wonderful ladies perfectly.
I have never seen two co-workers who respect and work together so well.
They are wonderfully sweet and extremely generous.
They are ALWAYS there for me (and others) no matter how busy they get.
A school office can be an extremely busy place and I'm always amazed how well they handle it.

I would like to dedicate this blog post to them.

Here are the cards I made for them.

The colors really didn't photograph well at all.
I apologize for that.
Of course I left the cards at work so I wouldn't forget them tomorrow so I couldn't retake them.
The first one is black, white and dark pink.
The second one is black, white and dark purple.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in. (black)
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. (pink, purple)
*L and T cut at 1 in. from the Cricut Folk Art Festival.
*Happy and Day stamps are from Close To My Heart.
*Pattern paper from Recollections.
*Buttons from Recollections.
*Twine from Recollections.
*Black ribbon from Joanns.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit by little blog.

A Hello Kitty Thank You

Just a quick post today.

I'll share the Hello Kitty shape album and full story later this week.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Hello Kitty cut at 3 in from the Cricut Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge.
*Flowers cut at 1 in and 1.25 in. from the Cricut Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge.
*Thank you sentiment stamp from unknown/no name on it.

I was very pleased how the card and the album turned out.
I gave them to the mom today and she loved them. I'm sure the dad will let me know tomorrow.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello everyone. Hope your weekend is one filled with love and hapiness!!

I wanted to do a little experimenting with some of my newer crafting items partnered with some of my old forgotten ones.

The newer items are my Spectrum Noir markers and my Gelly Roll pens.
The old and neglected items are the stamps, stamp pads and my Nate's ABCs cartridge.

I stamped the frame background stamp, then stamped the leaves. I tried to color the flower and heart stamps with my markers then stamp them but I just couldn't get the color I wanted so I colored them in instead.

I cut the umbrella, puddle, boots and reeds from Nate's ABCs in blue (the base is all one piece). Then the umbrella top from light purple and the reeds from pale green. To get the boots and umbrella to match the background I colored them with my markers. The raindrops are hand drawn with my Gelly Roll pen.

It started to rain when I was taking this picture so there are real ones, too. lol

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front frame background stamp from Close To My Heart.
*Umbrella, boots, puddle and reeds cut at 2.75 in. from the Cricut Nate's ABCs cartridge.
*Umbrella top embossed with stars from the Cuttlebug Skyward Set.
*Spectrum Noir markers #TB2, #TB3, and #TB9 to color boots and umbrella.
*Thank you sentiment from Stamp Francisco.
*Stamp pads from CTMH Tempting Turquoise and Green Chiffon.
*Raindrops made with Gelly Roll pen.
*Buttons from my stash

Thanks for stopping by.

Spring Anyone?

Boy I Wouldn't Want to Be a Weather Forcaster...
Like most of the country we have been having really weird and inconsistant weather.
One day it will be rainy and gloomy.
The next day sunny and 58
Followed by a day where I need to close the bridge on our school playground due to icy conditions .
Then cold over cast but no rain.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 70 maybe higher.

Our daffodils have bloomed and are gone already

I made this card with sunny, spring weather in mind.
Enjoy!

*Card base 5.5x 4.25 in.
*Pattern paper scraps from the Making Memories 8x8 Garden PartyPad.
*Flowers and butterfly stickers from the Making Memories 8x8 Garden PartyPad.
*I attached the stickers to scraps then cut them out so the brown, pink and blue would coordinate with the other paper I used for the card.
*Sentiment from Close To My Heart.
*Ribbon, button and bow from my stash.

Here's a picture of a few projects I am working on...

When I finish the Hello Kitty shape album I'll take pictures to share. I need to have it complete to give to the parents on Monday. Guess what I'm doing today. lol.

The cards are assorted colors of the purple ribbon flower thinking of you card I did for a previous post.

Thank You For Always...

First I'd like to thank a wonderful fellow blogger for her help this week.
When you get down to my challenge entry list you will notice that it has been cleaned up a bit thanks to her wonderful help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Claire from Scrap My Way for helping me with this!
I really appreciate your help.

Another person I'd like to thank again is Karon from Karon's Krafty Korner.
She encouraged me to start my blog and helped me get it set up.
She is also my MOST LOYAL follower. She has come and commented nearly everyday.
Thanks my friend.

Oh my gosh where did my energy go?
You would think that now that we have had a few days of sunshine I'd have plenty of it but nooooo.
I waited too long to finish my taxes but did get them in the mail Monday morning.
Whew! Glad that is done for another year. Why do I put these things off?

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days...
I've been working on a lot of projects.
-Next week is our parent volunteer luncheon at school. I have been helping with decorations and thank you gifts.
-Also this year I have some parents I wanted to make something special for.
I am making a Hello Kitty shape album for them. The dad comes EVERY Tuesday-Friday morning to help me with playground duty. This is after he works a full night shift. The mom comes every Monday to help me then helps out in their daughter's class.
-We found out our district is moving one of our special ed programs to another building in the district next school year. Due to this we are going to loose 10 of our staff members. I am making each one of them a thinking of you card.
-Also I am helping with their goodbye gifts and party decorations.

Anywhoo the point is the time and my energy has slipped by me.

Today's card is a thank you card.

Sorry about the bad picture lighting.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*I designed the 5.25 x 4 in. card front in the Cricut Craft Room.
The words are welded and then cut from the card front so the colors can show through from the back. The T, Y and always are cut at 1 in. from the Cricut Jasmine cartridge.
The rest of the words are cut at 1 in. from the Cricut Extreme Fonts cartridge.
*The butterflies are cut at 1 and 1.25 in. from the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.
*Rhinestones are from Joanns.

Just a Little Note...

Today I used one of my Cricut cartridges I haven't used in ages for the triangle background, Wild Card.

Just a quick post today... I am putting the finishing touches on our taxes.  Why do I always put these things off. It would be so much easier to just do them earlier and then be done with it. Oh well.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Triangle background design cut at 5.25 in from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge. The original cut is a square so I used Cricut Craft Room to adjust its size to  5.25 x 4 in.
*Butterfly cut at 1.5 in. from the Criut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.
*Flowers cut at 1 in. from the Criut Accent Essentials cartridge.
*Sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
*All embossing done with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
*Button and twine are both from Recollections.

Thanks for stopping by!
Love your thoughtful comments!

A Spring Filled Mother's Day..

Spring is in the air...
And I'm not just talking about my card.

Today my daughter and I went to our zoo. It is something we do together regularly when I have a day off.
Our zoo has had a baby boom lately...
a new baby elephant, a new baby otter and now 5 new baby penguins.
Did you know that baby otters are born not knowing how to swim? Their mommas drag them into and through the water to teach them.
Penguin babies know how to swim when they are born.
I love when I learn something new.
We even got to see the new flamingo exhibit.
My daughter took the most adorable picture of our two baby elephants.
The four year old big brother is cradling his little sister's trunk in his while they are standing forhead to forhead. She is only a few months old.

Are you ready for me to share my card now? lol.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.

Hapbeeeee Birthday to You!

Today is one of my brother's birthday. (I have 4) (And 3 sisters)

When I was making him a card I got a little carried away making cards.
Love when that happens.

This card isn't the one I ended up making for him but it is one of my favorites.

After I had the card all together I realized the pattern paper with the balloons on it had scattered confetti dots and the pattern paper with the candles did not. So of course I got out my Tulip Crystals Dimensional Fabric Paint and added dimensional dots to both sides.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 in. using 2 different pattern papers then cut diagonally.
*Bee cut at 2 in. from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.
*Bee face from the Peachy Keen Just Baby Faces Assortment stamps.
*Present cut at 2 in. from the Cricut Celebrations cartridge.
*Birthday wishes stamp and tag from the My Creative Time Tiny Tag Greetings set.
*Yellow frame cut at 3 x 2.5.
*Blue frame cut at 2.75 x 2.25and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
*Details added using Gelly Roll pens.
*Pattern papers from my stash.
*Holiday Inspiration ribbon.
*Buttons and twine bows from my stash.

Thanks for visiting me in bloggyland.
Come back real soon!

Flowers and Showers Gift Tag

I used the tag feature on my Cricut Picturesque cartridge for the first time.
It really has some cute tag cuts.
This one actually has three flowers cut from it and I used CCR to hide the top flower to make room for the umbrella.
The finished tag measures 5 x 2.5 in.

I have challenged myself to use things from my stash whenever possible.
All of the paper I used was from my scraps including the pattern paper.
I've had the buttons and embroidery thread for years.
I must admit the floral ribbon is new to my stash this year but all I had was solid ribbon so I bought some with patterns on them. It was about a month ago and I bought them on sale so they technically could count. lol.

*Tag cut at 2.5 in. from the Cricut Picturesque cartridge.
*Umbrella cut at 3 in. from the Cricut B Is For Boy cartridge.
*Raindrops cut at .75 in. from the Cricut A Child's Year cartridge.
*Creative Imaginations pattern paper.
*Holiday Inspirations floral ribbon.
*Buttons and DMC embroidery thread bows.
*Faux stitching drawn using a Gelly Roll pen.

Thanks for stopping by.
Come back real soon!
