This one's colors reminded me of Neapolitan ice cream my momma used to get for us.
Being from a big family {I have 7 siblings} ice cream was a special treat around our house.
When Momma did buy it on her limited food budget it wouldn't last long as you can expect.
This day brings with it both happy and sad memories...
23 years ago I had forgotten something and ran home from work real fast to get it.
There I found my sweet momma sitting on our couch and she waved me over.
I sat down next to her and she gave me the biggest hug of my life and whispered a sweet "happy birthday" in my ear.
Little did I know that would be the last time I would see her out of bed.
That night when I came home to celebrate she was too weak to join us in the living room.
Five short days later she joined my 1st born in heaven.
I am very thankful that we were able to care for her those last months of her life and that she was there to whisper those sweet words into my ear that one last time.

I really like this card; but even tho it is so very pretty your story is wrought with love and beautiful memories. We always got butterscotch ripple ice cream. Thank for participating in our weekly challenges at Word Art Wednesday. Blessings Carole
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. I love those colors. When we were kids we couldn't afford ice cream so we had "mellorine" any one remember that? The grocery store would sell it by the half gallon at 3 for $1. Our favorite flavor was neopolitan.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I really love this two colors together :0)
