Birthday Card ~ CAS Negative Cuts (post #3)

Over at Flourishes they had a wonderfully creative challenge idea.
What is it you ask?
The challenge is to make something using your negative cuts.
You know the ones... that paper that is left when you cut something out.
Whether it be by hand, with a manual die cutting machine or something electronic I just can't seem to throw them straight into the recycle can.
What if I need just that right shade or size of paper?
Then what?
My goal is to trim them down so they will fit nicely into my scrap paper folders.
I have a different folder for each color and am working on ones for design paper.

Now you don't have to actually use ones you have like these.

You can create one of your own like I did here.

Cause I don't know about you but I cut on every piece of that paper until there is almost nothing left.
I'm quite sure the wonderful people at the recycle center cringe when they see stuff from my house.
I sure hope they don't have to sort out those teeny tiny slivers by hand...

Well I digress ... back to my project.
They have these wonderful Silhouette cut files (and SVG ones too) that you can get to go with your stamp sets.
When this challenge was first posted the first set I thought of was Snow Scenes.
Of course the trees in the files are meant to be used to fussy cut the paper to stamp on but I asked myself why not use them this way...?,..
I set them up in my Silhouette program so they cut in just the right place.
Then I used one of those extra cuts I made a while back to stamp the deer on so he could be front and center.
It is pretty clean and simple.
I plan on making another one adding some embossing here and there.
I think the trees would look good with embossed texture behind the negative cut.
Maybe add some snowflakes...
I feel another card coming on. Stay tuned.

May your day always be filled with love.
Crafty hugs,
D~
