I was playing around with water, stamp pad ink and embossing folders.
I wasn't happy with the results when I added the watered ink to
this folder before embossing so I simply embossed it first
then hand painted the tree background for my card.
I stamped then fussy cut the flowers
and finished them off with tiny rhinestone centers.
*Flower and sentiment from the Oh Happy Day stamp set from Avery Elle.
*Embossed using the Darice Tree with Leaves folder.
*Memento Cottage Ivy stamp pad.
*Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad.
*Rhinestones from Darice.
May your day always be filled with love.

D~

ReplyDeleteLove this tree D! What a neat idea to emboss and then paint! It turned out very cool looking. Love the flowers and love the sentiment font. Hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteThis card turned out to be so lovely! I liked your write-up, too, and how you tried a different artistic technique when the first one you tried didn't work. Just goes to show that a true creative spirit never gives up! I'm glad you didn't because the result is lovely. Those fussy-cut flowers with the rhinestone centers are perfect! Thank you for participating in this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
ReplyDeleteInteresting technique great job on it too. I keep thinking about watercolouring with an embossing folder but that's s far as it goes.
