God Bless the USA Card ~ Diamonds, Stars & Stripes

I have really been having fun with all the red, white and blue.
The fun thing is they can also work for the 4th of July.

*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 and embossed using the Cuttlebug Skyward Set folder.

Let Freedom Ring Card ~ Stars and Stripes

Both of my cards today express how I feel about my country and those who have served to keep us free and safe.
Thank you just doesn't seem like enough but THANK YOU just the same.
My prayers go out to those families whose loved ones have been lost in wars both current and in the past.
I admire the family members who are left behind to run the everyday things because without their courage and strenghth the already hard jobs our military men and women are doing would be that much harder.
Thank you all for your service to this wonderful country.

Friendship Card ~ Stars and Stripes Bike

When I was looking for a bike cut to make this card I knew this one was just right.
It reminds me of the bike I learned how to ride on.
We would ride around and around in our yard for hours.
Every summer we used to decorate our bikes and ride them in our little town parade.
That is why I picked this sentiment because these memories are priceless.

Oh my...

I knew today would be emotional but wow...

We had the going away party for our nine transferred staff members.

There were a lot of tears and laughter as a fellow staff members talked about each and every one of our friends.
Our school is a small one with only about 325-380 students each school year.
This year we have one full time Kindergarten, one half time Kindergarten, two 1st grades, three 2nd/3rd grade blends, three 4th/5th grade blends and leaving us this year our two Special Ed classes.
Everybody knows everybody. And these wonderful ladies will be greatly missed.

Here are pictures of the table decorations and podium.

This special event was a joint effort pulling together all the necessary elements to make this party the success it was.
Our LOTO crew always thinks of these wonderful themes and great ideas of what would be fun to go along with them. They also chose thoughtful, personalized gifts for each one of our parting friends.
Guest speakers were asks to share their stories and adventures with each one focusing on one of their fellow co-workers.
One co-worker made the cupcakes and one made the Oscar cookies to go on top for our honorees.
She made yummy star shaped cookies for the rest of us. Lovingly wrapping each one in case we wanted ours to go and to make them pretty of course.
Everyone brought wonderful food to share.
And our school nurse once again shared her wonderful home for us to enjoy each other's company.
*LOTO (Ladies Of The Office)

I was able to hold it together mostly because I was the event photographer BUT on the way home I cried like a baby. I will miss not only these wonder ladies but also their special students. I think I'm still in a little bit of denial and it probably won't truly hit me until I do not see them in the fall. Their empty classrooms will be constant reminders of the void their departure will put in our school community. And I will really, really miss the hugs and interactions with their very special kiddos.

Here are the projects I've been working on for them.
My own little work of love.
I made nine of them total but four made the best piture design.

*Sign/card base 12 x12.
*Star cut at 10.75 in. using the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge and Recollections glitter paper.
*Circle cut at 3.5 in. using the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge and Recollections card stock.
*Small star cut at 2.5 in. using the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge and Recollections glitter paper.
*Names were welded together and cut at 1 in. using the Cricut Craft Room and the Cricut Billionaire cartridge.
*Signature backs were cut at 11.75 x 11.75 in.

Thank You Card ~ Flourishing Pearls

First I have to apologize for the picture today. Last year my camera started to have this mark that would show up on some pictures. I could usually get rid of it by focusing in just the right way. I really noticed it when we were at the beach and I took a picture of the beach, ocean, sky etc. It looked as though there was a tornado at the beach. It was a little amuzing but definately ruined a really good shot. Well no matter how I tried I could not get the marks to go away on this picture. And now there are a lot more of them. I've been trying to figure out what kind of camera to buy for my regular photos and was going to keep this one for blog pictures. Well this is pushing me to make up my mind.

So please ignore the shadowy looking spots. They are not on the actual card.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card fronts cut at 5.25 x 4 in. and 5 x 3.75 in.

Happy Birthday ~ Kraft & Black (post #2)

This is another one of those cards that started out as a completely different idea. I was cutting the flowers from my new Cuttlebug Harlequin die when the diamonds jumped out and said use me. Of course I had the perfect diamond paper to go with them. I did use one of the flowers and accent pieces from the die, too. The center of the flower needed a little something so I added a half pearl to its center and then a few tiny ones to the sentiment.

*Card base 5.5 x4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 in. from the 6x6 kraft and black Canvas Home Basics pad.

Happy Happy Birthday Card ~ Stars and Stripes (post #!)

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I finished the projects for the going away party this week for my 10 co-workers that are being moved to another school. Now I'm just waiting for them to make their way around the school as everyone signs them. I hope I can remember to take pictures of them when they make their way back to me.
I love how they turned out and would like to share them with you. (of course after they are given out)

The stars on this project are extras I cut because I just can't bear to waste paper especially glitter paper. When I was adding these small space filler stars this card came to me and I just knew I had to make it.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4in. and embossed using the Sizzix Rays folder.
*Flags cut using the Verve Stamps Flag It Die Set.

My Own Little Craft Space (post #2)

Over at Craftin Desert Divas they are having a fun Linky Party challenge
where we all get to share photos of our crafting space.
Here is my own little craft space.

As you can see my craft space is quite cozy. I share the space with a guest bed and other assorted household storage. In this little old 965 sq. ft home space is definately limited. As a matter of fact I'm standing on the bed to take this photo. When guests come we move in here and give them our bedroom. Wouldn't want to subject them to all of my creative clutter. They may never come again. lol.
Some of my ribbon is stored in a hanging Celebrate It ribbon box I got at Michaels. I have it hanging on the side of my 12x12 shelves you'll see in the next picture.
My 8x11 paper, stamps, stamp pads and assorted other crafting goodies are in assorted plastic drawers behind and beside my craft space.
My 12x12 paper is stored in Iris 12x12 containers.
The white containers in the front left corner of my pic hold my Verve Stamps and dies, My Creative Time stamps and dies, PK face stamps, and CardzTV stamp sets. I got these containers at Storables.

Next up is where I keep my Cricut cartridges and assorted crafting goodies. I got these 12x12 Recollection shelves at Michaels. I have three of them stacked up on the end of my crafting table. They are the perfect size to hold the cartridge boxes and the medium sized Snapware containers. The Snapware containers act as little drawers and hold my markers, gel pens, glitter and assorted other crafty goodies. This is my favorite of all of my storage ideas.

Next is where I keep my extra die cuts and design paper scraps. I got the containers at Michaels and the accordian folders at Staples. I just started to organize these this way so it is a work in progress. If I showed you a picture of all of my extra cuts and where they are now it would frighten you. lol.

My 4x6 and 5x7 Cuttlebug and assorted embossing folders are stored in the three Itso Small Bins I got at Target. I have them labled and sorted by theme.
Above them stored in Art Bins are my assorted Cuttlebug dies, assorted other dies and and embossing folders smaller than 4x6.
Next to them is how I have my Cricut Expression and my Silhouette Portrait. I was so lucky to win my Portrait in one of Linda's Paper Boutique Silhouette sponsored giveaways. I got the metal shelf at Storables so my machines can co-exist in the same small space.

My Cricut overlays are stored in these larger Snapware ribbon containers. I have most of the handbooks packed up and have them downloaded and stored digitally on my tablet.

Here is were (in theory) I store my solid scrap pieces in two more of the 12x12 shelves placed sideways under my crafting table. I say in theory because this is just were they end up when I go through the piles and sort them when I have time. lol. They are all sorted by color. One of them is on a wire shelf and the buckets underneath hold assorted adhesives and 3D craft samples.

Oh my goodness I didn't expect this to be such a long post.
I have tons of crafting goodies that can not be seen in these photos.
My name is D~ and I have an addiction.......

I hope you liked seeing where I create my projects.
I apologize about the messy mess but I do make a mess when I create. lol

Thanks so much for stoppng by!
I love when you leave me comments so I know when you've been here.

May your day always be filled with love.

Sorry I didn't have a post yesterday. My darling husband awoke Thursday with the flu so I've been a little busy in that department. I did get a chance to finish this card last night but was too exhausted to post it. I fell asleep at about 8pm. Hope his bug doesn't come for a visit!

I love the look of black and white cards so today's card is one of those.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front top cut at 2.25 x 4 in.  stamped with a meow stamp and a paw stamp. (? names)
*Card front bottom cut at 1.75 x 4 in. and embossed with the Cuttlebug Oriental Weave folder.
*Cat stamp from StampCraft.
*Scalloped oval punch from EK Success.
*Thank you stamp from CTMH.
*Tag punch from McGill Creativity.
*Ribbon and thread from my stash.

May your day always be filled with love.

Happy Birthday To You ~ Arrow Card (post #2)

I've been trying to expand the variety of my card making skills.
Adding bling, embossing, buttons, ribbon and other assorted goodies from my stash.
I have been wanting to use these arrow dies ever since I got them from My Creative Time.
I love how the arrows have stitching around their outside edges.
Sorry they do not show up verl clearly in the picture.

I just stamped this cute, new stamp I got from Verve Stamps (blog candy) in the middle and added the arrows around the outside using foam tape.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in. then embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot folder.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 in. sponged edges using Close To My Heart Heavenly Blue stamp pad.
*Happy Birthday To You sentiment stamp from Verve Stamps called Birthday To You.
*Small arrow die from the My Creative Time Stitched Mini Frame & Arrow Dies set.
*Large arrow die from the My Creative Time Stitched "Capture" Frame & Arrow Die set.

May your day always be filled with love.

Happy Birthday To You ~ Stars and Stripes

Hello everyone hope your week is going well. Mine has been real busy. The end of the school year is always extra busy. I offer extra reading and math support for our kiddos. State and district testing is coming up so the last few weeks of school will be exhausting for my team. Well enough of that. The point is I will try my best to get a daily project complete and posted. Thanks in advance for understanding if I miss a post or two.

I've been working on projects for fellow employees who will be leaving us in June. Their SPED program is being moved to another school. We will be loosing 10 valued employees and friends. I'll share pictures those projects after they are given out. Don't want them to see them online ahead of time if they're lurking out there somewhere.

Today I made a birthday card. You can't have too many of those on hand.

I've been trying to use some of my paper stash focusing right now on my many 4 x 6 pads.
And I am trying to use some of my other embossing folders. I found I always seem to grab the same ones. Especially since I orderd 36 sets of them when Cricut/PC had them on sale for $1.99. Now that was a sale I could not pass up. The 4 pc Retro Kitchen is one of those sets I just received.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in. then embossed with one of the Cuttlebug Retro Kitchen folders.
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. cut from the DCWV The Glitter Mat Stack 4 x 6 pad.
*Happy Birthday To You sentiment stamp from Verve Stamps called Birthday To You.
*Sentiment frame embossed with one of the Cuttlebug Retro Kitchen folders.
*Stars cut at 0.75 & 1 in. from the Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge.
*Ribbon from Spool o' Ribbon.

May your day always be filled with love.

Twinkle Twinkle CAS Card

Here is a CAS card I created.
I have to say this kind of card has become a little difficult for me.
I keep looking at it and thinking it could use a little bling or a button or two...

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 in. then embossed with one of the Cuttlebug Retro Kitchen folders.
*Little Star sentiment stamp from Verve Stamps.
*Sentiment punched out using the Marvy 2 in. circle punch then sponged the edges using the CTMH YoYo Yellow stamp pad.
*Stars colored in using Sakura Gelly pens.
*Ribbon from Spool O' Ribbon.

May your day always be filled with love.
